this view of isolation is not new
i've had it before. sleeping alone
someone in another room. and so
i wonder what is the point of it all
to dream of the person in the other
room: i have done that before. it is
as i have discovered, pointless cuz
there is nowhere to swim to - and
this is the saddest thing of all. not
the bed half empty. not the man in
the other room. not the children
sleeping and waking. or the cats
crawling - it is the loneliness of
not being capable to swim away
. . . . . . and then swimming away.
