perhaps i was too excited
and gave too much info
inviting her was too much
still it would have been
fun driving north, packing
items and snacks. stopping
along the way for pie & pics
perhaps that's what scared
her most, a car, a trip, a fear
stepping away from our life
from the people who want
and want, take and take and
to sit and listen to this or that
being: thousands of souls
perhaps we'd listen to stories
similar to ours or worse or more
perhaps we learn more about
each other - perhaps that is the fear
perhaps she fears taking from God
what is his rightfully - but one can
never take from God: we all belong
to Him
