in the fall of 1992
I met the most enchanting witch - she was thin
as a rail and reeked of Kentucky backwoods
after my training at for lee virginia - she invited
me to her home and I went willingly. She dressed
me up and fixed my hair and sprayed cheap perfume
on me - we stole, she stripped: and she and I would
play a game - five man mark: It was an easy game
for two young girls - we would sit at the bar apart
and we would order a water - then catch the eye
of the mark - the point system was easy - 10 for our
age group, 20 for older and 50 if married or
if we could prove taken - the game was fun. A drink
for me was 2 points and a drink for the friend 4
I drank a lot - and I got a lot - lots of trinkets
a trinket got 8 points and an expensive one 15
I received the most marvelous small gun with
an ivory handle - it paid for our rent for three
months - I was exotic in Lexington - and I was
a few drinks away from being entombed - then
my grandfather died and my mother found me
and I went down to Mexico to make sure that
he was dead - once assured - I never returned
to Kentucky
