four foot eleven inches she fed
upon salt and honey for twelve
days in hopes the media would
press those elected to act: allow
access to what i now possess: a
simple education fairly obtained
in return God cleansed her: de -
toxified her body made her ready
for the needles and wraps that
followed to do the rest, to rid
the cancer from her neck, lungs
this was thirty plus years ago, as
she ate her salad across from me
her grandson in the other room,
the house so simple, the people
neighbors of the man who on
occasion holds me thru the night
it is important to note that she did not know beforehand how God would save her: it is enough to know that we starve for the cause given us and nothing more
